Music, the one thing that causes movement and excitement. The ability of humans to hear/listen to sounds, tunes, beats, etc, and decipher which is which, is what differentiates us from animals.
Its an undeniable fact that music goes beyond our listening. It enters deep into our soul. We listen to all sorts of music, from slow music to hip music- music that makes your head go in and out like a 'bobby head' or music that makes you nod with excitement. Music varies in genres, we have rock, hip-hop, blues, juju, fuji, R'n'B, rap, Gospel, we could go on and on, listing them.
We sort of feel like music just appeared from the blues...well of course not, it was created, just like we were also. Let's start from the very beginning, when Lucifer was the chief of musicians in Heaven, he could sing so beautifully, and he knew the right accompaniment for every piece of music...he was talented. Best of all, he was the head of the choir of angels, he'll co-ordinate the angels and with his talent, create really good music that blessed God. But then everything changed...Pride set in. He was important and infact headed everything, except for the one thing, which he suddenly wished he owned, the Throne of Grace. Lucifer wanted the position of God, and went wild thinking of ways to overthrow God...*have a good laugh*...How impossible that was. Well but he dreamt of it, and then he formed an army with some foolish angels, who were foolish enough to believe the possibility of Lucifer's dream.
As we all know, there was war in heaven, Lucifer was thrown out of heaven, into the lake of fire.
Back to our main focus...Music! All that illustration was to portray the devil's knowledge of music. Of course he knows good music...and so he's decided to make music one of his tools of enticement.
My point is, the type of music we listen to has a whole lot of effect on us, with the rumours of churches representing the devil, we need to be very careful as christians. We, without knowing it glorify the devil with the songs we listen to, rather than glorify God Almighty, who deserves all our praise and worship. Even without thinking about it, the worldly/ secular songs we listen to have some form of connection with the devil. By listening to these songs, we let ourselves be used, and we automatically sell ourselves to him, disregarding the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Why not sing songs that not only glorify God, but also edifies your spirit and your entire being.
In conclusion, this message isn't for everyone, you could read it and just 'laugh out loud' or you could choose to take heed. Its really your choice. Have a great week!
